A Spectacular Summer – A Spectacular City

September 1st, 2011

How you look at things can make a big difference in one’s life.  I am inclined to see opportunities and to seek them out daily.  As a nominee for Mayor of Jasper, I’ve spent the entire summer listening and learning.  It has been my privilege…

…to have spoken with people at their homes, while grocery shopping, along the Jasper Riverwalk and at the Strassenfest.

…to have had discussions with city officials and employees.

…to have visited many city facilities.

…to have attended city meetings and events.

…to have received guided tours of local companies.

…to have worked on special projects such as the Jasper HomeTown Competitiveness initiative and the Jasper Action Team.

Through all of this, I’m more confident than ever that Jasper is ready for a transition – not just in our city government, but as a community.  There is passion for taking what is good and making it better as well as a desire to identify challenges to be tackled.  This summer has been one spectacular opportunity for me; 2012 will be the beginning of quite an opportunity for our city.

If you believe Jasper’s best days are still ahead, vote for me on Tuesday, November 8.
