Vote for Vision – 100 Million Dollars
November 3rd, 2015Today is Election Day and I ask for your vote to RE-ELECT ME AS MAYOR OF JASPER.
I firmly believe elections for local leaders are not about a party, but about candidates. Elected officials you can see around your community, at school events and in City Hall. On the other hand, it is fair to ask if Jasper is better today than in 2011. Hands down…we are. When you go to the polls today, here’s one amazing fact to remember:
Jasper has more than $100,000,000.00 – that’s 100 MILLION DOLLARS – of new investments already completed, underway or publicly announced since I’ve been mayor. I am confident there is no other city our size in Indiana which even comes close to this amount of economic development!
Consider…
- We’ve had more than $50,000,000 in expansion by our local employers bringing more than 400 new jobs.
- New, essential housing projects totaling more than $50,000,000 have been publicly announced to redevelop old, vacant factories at JOFCO and Jasper Wood Products/Monster. The inspirational River Centre is coming to Jasper Cabinet next to our Train Depot. The Jasper Cultural Center is proposed at the former Hoosier Desk site, a collaborative endeavor that the State of Indiana has announced a $3,500,000 investment in.
- Smithville Fiber is investing $7,000,000 to construct a city-wide fiber optics connection – using no taxpayer dollars.
- Our insurance industry rating for the city improved delivering property and casualty rate savings to all.
- More than 50 new businesses have opened in the last four years.
- Our police department now has a full-time officer in our schools through the cooperation we have with the Greater Jasper Consolidated Schools.
- We have our first ever dog park.
And we’ve done all of this and more with $1,200,000 less in property taxes while still balancing our annual budget. Amazing!
Jasper is AMAZING! We need leaders who are amazing, too. Re-elect me your mayor and provide me the support of like-minded candidates: Nancy Eckerle, Dean Vonderheide, John Bell and Brittany Brockman. Thank you.
